Bay Area residents are dealing with some devastating effects of strong storms around the region. Back to back storms Tuesday and Wednesday triggered dozens of reports of wind damage in the Bay Area. Over 125-thousand PG&E customers lost power during Tuesday’s storm and the lights were still in the process of coming back on for many when the latest weather event hit Christmas Eve. In Guerneville, a large redwood tree came down and crushed at least three vehicles and part of a home early Wednesday.
We have received multiple reports of flooding on roadways overnight, along with reports of downed trees, branches, and power lines. Take care if you have to travel today, and have multiple routes to your destination in case one is blocked. Turn around, don’t drown!! #CAwx pic.twitter.com/MjSyS4tg3p
