A man has been arrested after an incident at JD Vance’s home in Cincinnati overnight. Video from the scene shows windows apparently damaged in what may have been an act of vandalism or an attempted break-in. William Defoor has been charged with criminal damaging, obstructing official business, criminal trespass and felony vandalism. The Secret Service said the suspect was detained just after midnight. Vance spent the New Year’s holiday at home in Ohio but returned to Washington, DC on Sunday.
I appreciate everyone’s well wishes about the attack at our home. As far as I can tell, a crazy person tried to break in by hammering the windows. I’m grateful to the secret service and the Cincinnati police for responding quickly.
