President Trump says cities that provide sanctuary to illegal immigrants will lose federal funding on February 1st. During a speech in Detroit Tuesday, Trump said starting in February his administration will not make payments to sanctuary cities or states that have sanctuary cities, claiming they “do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American citizens.” Twelve states and five of the country’s biggest cities have laws prohibiting cooperation with immigration agents.
