Some San Francisco businesses are closed today due to planned power outages. About 36-hundred PG&E customers in the Civic Center area have been in the dark since midnight when the utility shut off the juice so repairs could be made to a local substation. PG&E officials say the power should be back on at noon today. Some businesses in the region decided to close for the day due to the lack of power. A second outage is expected to take place at midnight Tuesday which will affect about 14-thousand people in the Richmond District. That outage should be shorter, lasting only a couple of hours.
