San Francisco teachers and the San Francisco Unified School District reached a deal early today, ending the strike that closed schools since Monday. Schools will stay closed Friday for a transition day before reopening Wednesday. Monday is a holiday. The deal includes pay raises, better healthcare, and smaller caseloads for special education teachers. Raises range from five percent to eight and a half percent over two years, with classified employees getting an extra floating holiday.
