Members of the Bay Area’s Iranian community are celebrating the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. Hundreds of supporters gathered Sunday in San Francisco for a rally supporting the U.S. attack on the regime in Iran.
Another large crowd of Iranian-American protesters gathered near the Federal Building in Westwood to call for the freedom of the Iranian people. Yesterday’s demonstration follows a weekend attack in Iran that killed that nation’s Supreme Leader.
Many said the death of Khamenei is another step toward Iranians regaining their freedom from what they call an oppressive regime. They also held a moment of silence for the three U.S. service members who were announced killed in war operations Sunday.
