LAX is officially increasing rideshare fees. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners voted to hike fees for rideshare services like Uber and Lyft, along with taxis and limousines. Pickup and drop-off fees at the rideshare lot are going from four to six dollars. At the main terminal, five-dollar fees are going to 12 dollars. This is the first fee increase of its kind in a decade. Officials claim it will reduce traffic congestion and encourage people to use the Automated People Mover that is on track to open later this year.
