California is suing the Trump Administration following an order to reopen an oil pipeline off the Santa Barbara coast. Last Friday, the president invoked emergency powers to restart the Santa Ynez Pipeline System from Las Flores Canyon to Pentland Station. Trump cited the Defense Production Act. On Saturday, oil flowed through the pipeline for the first time since 2015. Attorney General Rob Bonta sued on Monday. State leaders, including Governor Gavin Newsom, say the move threatens the environment.
