Transgender athletes are being banned from competing in women’s events at the Olympics. The International Olympic Committee announced the decision yesterday. The ban will be in place starting with the 2028 Los Angeles Games. The move is in line with an executive order signed by President Trump last year that aims to keep transgender athletes out of women’s sports. The IOC’s Kirsty Coventry says the new rules promote fairness and safety.
