Average gas prices are now topping six-dollars in several California counties, including Los Angeles County. It joins San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Sonoma, Humboldt, Inyo and Mono counties above that mark, while San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Monterey and Napa counties are just below it. California has the nation’s highest gas prices and Californians pay nearly 90 cents per gallon in taxes. The national average is four-dollars a gallon.
