President Trump says it’s been “quite an evening” after shots were fired at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, DC. In a post on Truth Social, Trump thanked the Secret Service and local police for responding quickly and apprehending the shooter. Trump said he would like for the show to go on, but that decision will be up to the authorities. The President, First Lady, Vice President and other dignitaries were rushed out by the Secret Service after shots rang out. Several reporters inside the the event say they saw a shooter rush a security checkpoint and started firing.
