The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor has launched a new attack advertisement against Spencer Pratt in the Los Angeles mayoral race. The federation, representing more than 300 labor unions and approximately 800,000 workers, labels Pratt a Republican and argues he is “the last thing Los Angeles needs.” Although Pratt is registered as a Republican, he is running as an independent and insists the campaign should center on local concerns instead of national partisan politics. The advertisement also targets Pratt’s views on homelessness, emphasizing his opposition to spending taxpayer money on new housing projects for unhoused residents. It further cites remarks in which Pratt allegedly told homeless people to “get help or get out.” Despite the criticism, Pratt appeared to gain momentum after last week’s NBC4 mayoral debate. An online viewer poll conducted afterward showed that 90 percent of respondents believed Pratt performed better than both Karen Bass and Nithya Raman during the televised event.
