Every year, thousands of passengers leave personal belongings behind in Uber vehicles, prompting the rideshare company to release its annual Lost and Found Index. The report highlights the cities where riders are most likely to forget their possessions and showcases some of the most unusual items recovered by drivers. According to this year’s rankings, New York City leads the nation as the most forgetful city, followed by Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco. While many lost items are everyday essentials, the most commonly forgotten belongings include cell phones, wallets, luggage, keys, and headphones. However, the report also features a number of surprising discoveries that drivers have found in their vehicles. Among the more unusual items left behind were dentures, containers of breast milk, an ankle monitor, and even a child’s prosthetic eye. The annual index offers a humorous look at riders’ forgetfulness while reminding passengers to double-check for their belongings before ending a trip.
