Transportation officials are encouraging soccer fans attending World Cup matches at SoFi Stadium to use public transit rather than drive. Many fans agree that taking Metro services may be the most convenient option, especially with parking near the stadium expected to be limited and costly. Officials estimate that parking fees could reach at least $200 per vehicle on match days.
To accommodate the influx of visitors, Metro will operate shuttle buses connecting fans directly to the stadium as well as to official World Cup watch parties throughout the region. Fans traveling from Ventura, Orange, and San Diego counties are encouraged to take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner to Union Station, where they can connect to local transit services. Amtrak has announced plans to add routes and service dates to meet increased demand during the tournament.
In addition, 300 dedicated World Cup buses will run from transit hubs across Southern California to SoFi Stadium, which will be referred to as Los Angeles Stadium during the event. Caltrans expects significant traffic and strongly recommends public transportation.
