Father Charged For E-Motorcycle Crash That Injured Son

A father is facing criminal charges after prosecutors say his 12-year-old son was seriously injured while illegally riding an e-motorcycle in Orange County. Richard Eyssallenne is charged with felony child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor following the crash in July of last year. Prosecutors say the boy ran a red light while riding the e-motorcycle and was struck by a car. Authorities allege the vehicle had been unlawfully modified and that the boy was not legally old enough to operate it. Prosecutors say riders must be at least 16 years old and have a valid license to operate the type of vehicle involved. The boy suffered serious injuries, including a fractured skull and a broken leg. The charges against his father focus on allegations that he allowed or contributed to the child’s unlawful operation of the e-motorcycle.
