Two 15-year-old girls are in custody on suspicion of plotting a school shooting at a Southern California high school. Police say the teenagers spent months researching previous school shootings and discussing plans to attack Corona High School. The investigation began after the FBI alerted local authorities to threatening online conversations. That information led to the arrest of a Corona High School student on October 6th. Investigators later arrested a second teenager who attends nearby Norco High School. Authorities say the girls discussed obtaining weapons as part of the alleged plot. However, investigators did not find any weapons during searches connected to the case. Both teenagers are facing allegations of conspiracy to commit murder. Police have not released additional details about the alleged plan or whether investigators believe other people were involved. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as they work to determine the full extent of the alleged threat and gather additional evidence in the case.
