The numbers are down slightly when it comes to filming on location movies and television projects in Los Angeles.
Film LA President Paul Audley says it’s not all negative. The tax credit bill Governor Brown signed and extended through next year has already had a positive impact.
“The good news is that the industry still prefers to be here. We still have the best infrastructure, biggest crew base, all those things that make it easy to film in Los Angeles. And what we’ve seen is a substantial increase year over year in both TV and feature with this program, but we’re back up in numbers that put people back to work and kept our infrastructure in place.”
He goes on to say the ease of new equipment that’s more mobile and tax credits and incentives from neighboring states will always be a factor, but nothing beats the movie capital of the world.
Audley was a guest on McIntryre in the Morning.
