City Council Cuts LAPD Budget By $150-Million
(Los Angeles, CA) — The Los Angeles Police Department’s budget is being cut by 150-million dollars. The LA City Council voted 12 to 2 today to cut the funding. It will likely produce a staffing level under 10-thousand officers, the lowest level in over a decade. It comes after activists pressured LA city leaders to defund major aspects of the police department.
