(Los Angeles, CA) — A group of protesters gathered outside Mayor Eric Garcetti’s house to demand the reopening of school campuses. On Thursday afternoon, dozens packed street corners, holding up signs that said things like “closing schools is child abuse.” Most Los Angeles-area school districts have already decided to go online-only because of coronavirus concerns. That includes the largest district, L.A. Unified. The group wants schools to reopen right away, but input social distancing measures.
