L.A. Looking To Enforce Mask Mandate
(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles could be the next city within the county to start fining people for not wearing a face covering. Mayor Eric Garcetti made masks mandatory throughout the city as part of his Safer L.A. order and councilman Paul Koretz says it’s time to start enforcing it. Koretz filed a motion yesterday to fine first time violators 100-dollars for not wearing a mask, 250-dollars for a second offense and 500-dollars for a third time. Garcetti says the last thing Angelenos need right now are fines and questions who will enforce the mask ordinance since the LAPD budget was gutted and 350 positions cut.
