Stocks End Flat, S&P 500 Closes Shy Of Record, Still Great Week
(New York, NY) — It’s a lackluster end to the week on Wall Street. Still, the major indexes posted gains for the week with the Dow advancing nearly two percent. The S&P 500 notched its third straight weekly gain, but closed shy of a record. The Nasdaq rose less than a tenth of a percent for the week. Stocks finished mostly flat in muted trading as markets looked for direction following mixed economic data. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 34 points to 27-931. The S&P 500 fell a fraction of a point to 33-72. And the Nasdaq lost 23 points to 11-019. Big tech shares like Facebook, Apple and Amazon fell slightly in late trading.
