(Los Angeles, CA) — With classes set to start Monday in the nation’s second-largest school district, Los Angeles teachers overwhelmingly support a new agreement that spells out the conditions for teaching online. After three days of voting, the labor union United Teachers Los Angeles says 95 percent of those who cast ballots voted in favor of the deal. Among other things, UTLA says no teacher will be required to physically return to work in any L.A. Unified School District building until schools are reopened for all students during the coronavirus pandemic. Also, NBC4 reports: Teachers and others staff members who might be on campus will be provided with childcare.
