(Sacramento, CA) — You won’t be able to buy cotton candy vape, tropical fusion cigarillos, menthol cigarettes or other flavored tobacco products in California, starting January 1st. Governor Gavin Newsom quickly signed the new law after it sailed through the Legislature Friday. Senate Bill 793 by San Mateo Democrat Jerry Hill outlaws the sale of all flavored tobacco and e-cigarette products. The measure is aimed at reducing smoking by teenagers. It was strongly opposed by the tobacco industry. The ban does not cover hookah products or premium cigars.
