(St. Louis, MO) — The St. Louis couple who waved guns at protesters in June are appearing in court for the first time. Mark and Patricia McCloskey were later charged with one felony count each of unlawful use of a weapon – exhibiting. At a local courthouse Monday, lawyer Joel Schwartz said the team is convinced “with absolute certainty” that no felony was committed. Authorities said demonstrators feared injury while the McCloskeys pointed an AR-15 rifle and a semiautomatic handgun at them. The cases are expected to be heard by a grand jury, which will decide on a possible indictment. The hearings have been postponed until October.
