(Berkeley, CA) — If you can’t decide what you want to eat for dinner, you can blame your retrosplenial cortex. The area within the cerebrum was found to be the powerhouse of value choice making, according to a new study at the University of California. Researchers say the retrosplenial cortex acts as a “reservoir for valuable information,” which distributes that information to other vital areas of the brain. Researchers add this neural circuit performance for decision-making was likely selected through evolution.
