(Sacramento, CA) — As gas prices continue a downward trend, California residents can expect them to jump on Friday. July 1st is the day the state gas tax increases by at least three-cents per gallon. That will bring the state’s gas tax to approximately 54-cents per gallon. Sacramento lawmakers discussed a gas tax holiday but instead opted to send out inflation relief payments.
