General Behind The Withdrawal From Afghanistan Says Opinion Was Ignored
(Tampa, FL) — The general in change of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan says President Biden overruled his plan to keep a small force on the ground. 13 American service people died in what was widely condemned as an inept and unnecessary plan. Appearing on Fox News Sunday, retired Marine Corps General Frank McKenzie maintained his opinion that a small force of around 25-hundred troops should have stayed in Afghanistan to prevent the collapse of the country’s government. He went on to say that while total withdrawal was just one option, it was an outcome to ultimately be decided by the President. General McKenzie also predicted that the Taliban takeover would allow terrorist groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda to regain strength, as it appears they have.
