(Los Angeles, CA) — Families should expect Los Angeles Unified School District campuses to close if teachers and other employees go on a planned three-day strike. That’s the word from LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho. Sixty-five-thousand workers from two different unions might walk out within the next few weeks. The union representing 30-thousand non-teacher school workers is threatening to strike over their contract. Another 35-thousand workers from United Teachers Los Angeles, which mostly represents teachers, says they would join the picket lines. A strike would likely mean kids would have to use virtual learning.
