Newport Beach residents are not happy that a suspected kidnapper is loose after eluding police following a pursuit and standoff last night.
It began with an hour-long pursuit across Orange County, then a stand off on a road in the Newport Beach’s Back Bay. Somehow, when Thomas Ueno released his family, he made a break for it and disappeared.
Resident Deborah Keillor told NBC 4 News:
“He could be on the hillside, who knows, he could be down in the water, I don’t know, I just can’t believe they lost him!”
Ueno is described as Hispanic, 35 years old, with tattoos on both sides of his neck. He was wearing jeans, a black hoodie, and gray shoes when last seen.
