The largest Gay, Republican political organization in the country has yet to endorse Donald Trump but it is giving every indication that it will.“We’ve never had a Republican Presidential nominee explicitly acknowledge the LGBT community,” said Gregory T. Angelo, President of Log Cabin Republicans. “Mr. Trump, the Monday after the Orlando terrorist attack, actually said he would be a friend of the LGBT community.”Trump has broken ranks with conservatives on the issues of gay marriage and rights for the LGBT people.“You don’t make the deals Trump made, you don’t create a real estate empire in New York and around the world, without having some significant interactions with the LGBT community,” Angelo told KABC.Log Cabin Republicans have not endorsed Trump but they usually don’t back a candidate until much closer to the election.LGBT usually lean Democratic. Exit polls from the 2012 election found 76 percent of voters who identified as gay voted for Barack Obama, while only 22 percent voted for Mitt Romney.Angelo appeared on TalkRadio 790 KABC’s McIntyre in the Morning with Doug McItyre and Terri-Rae Elmer.By Michael Hotten—
