A 22-year-old North Hollywood man is out on bond after Border Patrol agents arrested him near the Mexican border with a teen passenger he claims played a trick on him. The Los Angeles Times reports immigration officials say Jesus Arreola Robles, a beneficiary of the DACA program (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), was trying to smuggle the Mexican teen into the country. Robles said he was giving the teen, now deported, a ride for $600. Robles worked as an Uber driver, but in this case agreed to give his 17-year-old cousin Luis a ride “off the books.” Luis told Robles to stop near Campo, California, about a mile from the border. It is there they were met by Border Patrol agents.
