The debate over the role of the government in the rationing of public healthcare is front and center in the case of a severely brain damaged British baby. Medical authorities say they will take eleven-month-old Charlie Gard off a ventilator because the rare genetic disease can’t be stopped or reversed. The baby is deaf and blind and cannot breathe or move on his own.
