The Corona Norco Unified School District schools are open today. Evacuation orders were lifted for about five hundred homes in the Corona area that were initially threatened by the Canyon Fire. Full containment of the 2,000-acre blaze on the Orange-Riverside county border is expected by Sunday.
The blaze is being fought by about 1,900 firefighters from the Anaheim, Corona and Los Angeles County fire departments, the Orange County Fire Authority, U.S. Forest Service and Cal Fire.
