The Department of Homeland Security says it will not comply with California’s ban on masked law enforcement officers. The DHS made the announcement on Monday, calling the ban unconstitutional. Governor Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law last weekend. It bans most law enforcement officers from covering their faces while conducting official business. It comes after the past several months of immigration raids in the Los Angeles area. The law goes into effect in January.
