Israeli forces have completed the “first phase” of their troop withdrawal from areas of the Gaza Strip. That’s according to President Trump’s special enovy Steve Witkoff. It comes after Israel’s cabinet ratified the first phase of a U.S.-brokered peace deal with Hamas and a ceasefire is now in effect. President Trump says he thinks the hostages will all be released on Monday or Tuesday. Trump is expected to travel to Egypt for a formal signing of the deal. There are multiple reports the U.S. is planning to send as many as 200 troops to Israel to monitor the ceasefire agreement.
