Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi says police in San Francisco can arrest federal immigration agents if they break California law. Pelosi announced the idea with the full support of the city’s District Attorney, Brooke Jenkins. They insisted that if agents use excessive force during immigration raids, they can be arrested and prosecuted. Jenkins says there are plenty of examples in Los Angeles and Chicago of ICE agents roughing people up. She reiterates that if it happens in her city, those agents will be identified, she’ll obtain a court order, find them, and prosecute them. Earlier today, President Trump called off plans to deploy federal agents to San Francisco.
