The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will not seek the death penalty in the murder of “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor. Prosecutors announced the decision on Monday. The suspected gunman, 19-year-old Robert Barceleau, could face a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole if convicted as charged. The 37-year-old Wactor was shot to death in May of 2024, after finding a group of thieves stealing the catalytic convertor out of his car in downtown Los Angeles. Barceleau is charged with murder and attempted second-degree robbery. His co-defendant, 19-year-old Sergio Estrada, is charged with the same counts.
