A lawsuit challenging California’s new congressional map is now before a three-judge panel in Los Angeles. The judges started hearing arguments yesterday as a group of Republicans asked for a temporary restraining order. The GOP lawmakers want the judges to put the map on hold because Friday is the day candidates can take their first official steps to run for Congress. Proposition 50 allows a congressional map that favors Democrats to be used next year. Democrats claimed they put that issue before voters after Texas Republicans changed their map to favor the GOP.
