Tesla sales in California are poised to be suspended if it doesn’t change its marketing practices on its driver-assistance technology. The California DMV is suing Tesla, accusing the electric carmaker of misleading consumers about its so-called “Full Self-Driving” technology. The state is asking a judge to temporarily suspend Tesla’s ability to sell or manufacture vehicles in California for 30 days. Tesla says consumers understand that the system is not entirely self-driving. Lawyers for Tesla argue regulators are taking marketing statements out of context and failing to account for Tesla’s warnings and disclosures about the driver-assistance systems.
