City of Los Angeles Sees 350 Traffic Accidents So Far
The city of Los Angeles has seen hundreds of emergencies since the rainstorm began on Wednesday morning. As of Thursday night, there have been more than 350 car crashes and more than 600 tree emergencies, along with thousands of power outages. That includes toppled trees and power poles. On Thursday night, there were still about four-thousand power outages being reported by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
Storms Slam Bay Area Roads
It was a very wet Christmas for much of the Bay Area. Heavy rain hit the region for much of Thursday, leading to dangerous driving conditions all over. The rain was joined by winds strong enough to trigger tornado warnings in San Mateo and Santa Cruz counties. Flooding ended up shutting down part of Highway 87 in San Jose for much of Christmas morning. Travelers in Northern California also face chain controls on mountain roads.
