The Los Angeles Police Department will not enforce a state and local ban on federal law enforcement officers wearing masks. That’s what LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell said on Thursday. He cites potential conflicts between the LAPD and other agencies if the ban were to be enforced. In recent months, the state of California and L.A. County have approved bans on federal agents wearing masks during enforcement operations. Chief McDonnell says it was not a good public policy decision and was not well thought out.
