A federal judge strikes down a California law that would have barred ICE agents from wearing masks during immigration enforcement operations. U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder rules the law is unenforceable because it applies only to federal agents and not state or local police, violating the Constitution’s Supremacy Clause. She says the measure could potentially stand if it were rewritten to include California law enforcement. The case was brought by the Trump administration.
