President Trump says the U.S. is richer than ever before. In his State of the Union address, Trump said jobs, investments, and trillions of dollars will continue to pour into the U.S. This comes as Trump has made the economy a key part of his agenda, making several trips across the country to address supporters in recent weeks as part of an “affordability” tour.
President Trump blasted what he calls the “border invasion” that happened under former President Biden in his State of the Union address. Trump made the comment while is calling on Democrats to reopen the Department of Homeland Security. In his State of the Union address Tuesday night, Trump said he was “demanding the full and immediate restoration of all funding for the Border Security and Homeland Security of the United States.” The funding lapsed January 30th over ICE, with Democrats demanding changes to immigration enforcement after two deadly ICE-involved shootings in Minnesota. The stand-off has hit personnel at the Emergency Management Agency, Coast Guard, Secret Service and TSA. But ICE is largely functioning normally because the agency already got 75-billion-dollars of funding from the Big, Beautiful, Bill.
President Trump also announced a “war on fraud.” President Trump said members of Minnesota’s Somali community have defrauded American taxpayers of upwards of 19-billion dollars. He went on to say other states like California, Massachusetts and Maine are much worse. Trump said Vice President JD Vance would lead a war on fraud in response.
