Dangerous heat will impact Southern California this week. A heat advisory will be in place from ten a.m. today through ten a.m. tomorrow. Then, an extreme heat warning takes effect, lasting through Friday night. Highs between 90 and 98 degrees are expected today. For the rest of the week, highs between 96 and 104 degrees are expected. Several more daily and monthly temperature records could be broken, by several degrees. Overnight lows will also be on the warmer side, at nearly 70 degrees. The National Weather Service is warning people to be cautious this week, especially when working or exercising outdoors.
An unprecedented heat wave is headed to the Bay Area. Record hot temperatures are expected to be recorded in cities around the region for several days, beginning today. San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose have never seen a 90-degree day in the month of March, but that is expected to change. Residents are being told to take all precautions to stay as cool as possible during the heat wave and to check on their neighbors, especially those in need.
