A Bay Area-based popular coffee chain is saying Pride flags can no longer be flown at its stores. Philz Coffee CEO Mahesh Sadarangani has confirmed that Pride flags would no longer be displayed at locations of the popular chain. Sadarangani says the move is to provide a “more consistent, inclusive experience across all our stores.” The CEO says despite the flag removal order, Philz continues to give longstanding support to the LGBTQIA+ community. Pride-centered groups are furious about the move, saying Philz is likely to lose some support. They call the move deeply disappointing.
