Arizona Democratic Senator Ruben Gallego claims he feels betrayed by his friend Eric Swalwell. The California Democrat is accused of sexual assaulting a former staffer and harassing others.
Last week, Gallego defended Swalwell online against allegations of misconduct, which he later said he regretted.
Gallego said he “fell for it,” after Swalwell tried to defend himself from rumors of flirtatious behavior during his run for California governor. Swalwell ultimately suspended his campaign and announced his resignation from Congress on Monday. Swalwell has denied the allegations.
