California public schools are seeing their largest enrollment decline since the pandemic. Officials say student numbers dropped by nearly 75 thousand this academic year, a decrease of about one-and-a-half percent. Educators claim lower birth rates and stricter immigration enforcement as contributing factors. Officials do not expect enrollment to rebound anytime soon.
