Donors want their money back from Eric Swalwell’s campaign for California governor after several women accused him of sexual assault. Hundreds of donors want one and a half million dollars back. Swalwell’s campaign tanked after the first allegation surfaced. More women then came forward, and many staffers quit. Swalwell dropped out of the governor’s race on April 12 and said he would resign from Congress the next day. Since then, his campaign has received a flood of refund requests. Several reports suggest Swalwell appears to be using campaign funds for legal costs.
