A Los Angeles County official is calling for an investigation into the gun shop where the alleged White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooter purchased his weapon. County Supervisor Janice Hahn has formally asked District Attorney Nathan Hochman to review the sales practices of the Turner’s Outdoorsman store in Torrance, the suspect’s hometown. Hahn is urging prosecutors to determine whether the retailer followed all legal requirements when selling firearms. Authorities say suspect Cole Allen was armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives on the night of April 25, when he allegedly rushed a Secret Service security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton Hotel. He now faces several serious charges, including attempting to assassinate President Trump. Hahn also cited data from the California Department of Justice linking eight Turner’s Outdoorsman locations in Los Angeles County to a disproportionate number of firearms later recovered at crime scenes, raising concerns about potential patterns in gun sales.
