A new report from the San Francisco Travel Association shows tourism is continuing to rebound in San Francisco, with millions more visitors expected to arrive this year. The organization forecasts that approximately 24.2 million people will visit the city in 2026, marking an increase of about 500,000 visitors compared with 2025. Tourism leaders say the steady rise reflects growing confidence in the city’s economy, attractions, and convention business.
Officials also estimate that travelers will spend nearly $9.9 billion at local hotels, restaurants, shops, and other businesses throughout the year. That spending is expected to provide a major boost to the local economy and support jobs tied to tourism and hospitality. According to SF Travel representatives, the rapid growth of the artificial intelligence industry is playing a significant role in the increase. More AI-related conferences, conventions, and business events are being hosted in San Francisco, attracting visitors from around the world and helping drive demand for travel, lodging, and entertainment.
